Mary-Margaret Monk
Associate Attorney

Mary-Margaret is originally from Virginia Beach, Virginia. She attended the University of South Carolina, Coastal Carolina College, in Myrtle Beach before relocating to Fort Lauderdale to work in the travel industry. Mary-Margaret completed her undergraduate studies at Florida Atlantic University, where she graduated summa cum laude, and received her Juris Doctorate at Nova Southeastern University School of Law.

Mary-Margaret has over 17 years litigation experience and has handled Personal Injury Protection, Contracts, Foreclosures, Collections, Subrogation and Family Law matters. She’s practiced in Collier, Lee, Charlotte and Hendry counties in Southwest, FL as well as Broward, Dade and Palm Beach counties on the east coast.

While the start of her Family Law experience was an internship at the Domestic Violence Unit at the Broward County State Attorney’s Office, a tragic story is what drove Mary-Margaret to practice Family Law. Her closest childhood friend, Camille, who was a practicing attorney in Atlanta, was Mary-Margaret’s motivation for becoming an attorney herself. Camille was a victim of Domestic Violence and ultimately lost the battle and her life, as she was murdered by her husband. This experience drives Mary-Margaret’s passion to help families through their Divorce, Custody and Domestic Violence matters.

Mary-Margaret is married to local veterinarian, Dr. Brian Monk. They have many furry children, (7 cats to be exact) all of which were rescues. Given her love for animals, when out and about, you may see Mary-Margaret helping a turtle cross a busy street or saving another animal from peril.

When not working, Mary-Margaret enjoys visiting aquariums, photography, paddle boarding, fossiling, snorkeling, scuba diving, traveling the world and watching South Korean music and television. She is also a college football fan(atic!!), rooting on her team, the South Carolina Gamecocks. You’ll also find her working with her husband, Brian, in their orchid and photography company, Blu Llama Orchids.

Mary-Margaret is admitted to practice law in Florida.
