To many LGBT members of our community this day probably felt like it would never come. Fortunately it has and today the South West Florida 20th Judicial Circuit began issuing same-sex marriage licenses and offering same-sex couples to exchange vows.
In the many advancements our society has made in the past 70 years, racially-, gender-biased, and age-disability protective, it is surprising to me that it has taken so long for the change in same-sex couples to arrive, but it finally has.
To those first same-sex couples married today in Southwest Florida we at Peterson Family Law offer a heartfelt congratulations and wish them the best of luck and happiness!
